Holiday Beauty Survival Kit For The Car

Holidays are a hectic time. I feel like as soon as Halloween passes I am in my car 24/7. Between school parties, family parties, birthdays, gift shopping and all the holiday parties during the months of November/December, I am on the go constantly. I actually have a special purse just for those months. It’s bigger and fits a change of clothes plus other essentials. I think I do my makeup and my hair more in my car than I do in my bathroom during the holiday months.

Luckily, since I have 2 daughters, we have our beauty survival car kit. The kit became a must as the girls have grown older. Depending on the weather some items change in and out but we have some staples that HAVE to be there. The items must be able to survive multiple temperatures of the car and be compact enough to fit in our car, a smaller sedan.

How To Assemble A Holiday Beauty Survival Kit For The Car:

First off, hit the dollar aisle. For toiletries you can’t beat the price.

15 must have items for your beauty survival car kit.

1. You need a sturdy, handled tote that will fit products up to 8-9 inches wide.

2. Wide tooth shower comb with hook handle. (So you can hang it in the car to free up your hands if needed)

3. Cotton swabs for touch ups.

4. Deodorant for obvious reasons.

5. Petroleum jelly for chapped lips and dry hands.

6. Razors for a quick touch up if needed.

7. Mason jars. These are a must because they are made for extreme temperatures and are hard to shatter. Ours are filled with hair ties, hair pins, barrettes and cotton balls. We can never have enough of these things.

I use it on makeup that I get on my clothes. It’s fantastic especially during the holidays when I seem to always have glitter on me. Plus my cat likes to add his white hair to every piece of formal wear or dark colored clothing I own. It’s the stickiest lint roller we have found. It grabs everything. The easy tear sheets make using it in the car simple.

This is not even an exaggeration. I primarily use powdered makeup and I make a mess out of myself. In the car or the bathroom….it makes no difference.

I have used many a lint roller in my days. My daughter, who works at a vet, was amazed at how efficient these new rollers work. I might get her a few for her stocking as well. 😉 The Scotch-Brite™ Lint Roller also works great if you don’t need the ultra sticky roller, like if you have a delicate shirt. I tend to keep both in the car. It keeps clothes lint, hair & fuzz free. You can use the roller on pants, coats, sweaters, dresses, suits, formal wear and more

It also took the cat hair, lint and pretty much anything that doesn’t belong on there off! It really is 50% stickier to pick up the big stuff. There was no makeup residue left behind. We have found it can do more than just pick up lint or pet hair – the Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Roller can pick up crumbs, sand, glitter etc to avoid having to take out the large vacuum cleaner.

We found it in the laundry aisle at Walmart. (Scotch-Brite Lint Roller™: 95 sheet: $4.47, Twin pack 65-sheet: $5.78) I love that aisle!!! Some of my best finds for the house have been in that aisle. You can also grab a coupon to save $1 on any two Scotch-Brite Products (Scrub Sponges, Lint Rollers and Scrubbing Dish Cloths) here.

9 and 10. Toothbrush and toothpaste – I drink even more coffee during the holidays and I am always worried I have coffee breath. Since I pretty much have a water bottle with me wherever I go, brushing is easy.

11. Talcum powder.  Obviously you can’t shower in your car so the powder helps freshen you up.

12. Baby oil. We have found this is the easiest way to take off your makeup when you are reapplying or to use with the cotton swabs for touch ups if your driver happens to hit a bump while you are applying eye liner…..

13. (not pictured) Clear nail polish. Perfect for holes in clothes, stockings and to seal chips or tears in your nails until you can file them.

14. Mouthwash. If you don’t have time to brush but had a spinach salad for lunch, mouthwash is a quick fix. Don’t get the stinging kind, get a gentle mouthwash so your mouth isn’t red when you are greeting your family!

15. Wrinkle releaser. I never have time to iron and I find it to be a waste of time. I iron my clothes and then sit in the car for 1/2 hour only to emerge just as wrinkled as before. Wrinkle releaser smells great and is simple to use. It’s the difference from looking homeless vs pulled together. Trust me, I need all the help I can get!

Out of all the products we use in our beauty survival car kit, the Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Roller is my favorite. All of the Scotch-Brite™ Brand lint rollers work fantastic. You can learn more about this fantastic product, find ideas and get more inspiration on great ways to use them.
